11 Things You Need To Change In Your Bedroom To Attract Love

It's February and love is definitely in the air!

I have a new client that is unapologetically single and fiercely independent but would like to invite a new partner into her life. We are redesigning her master bedroom so this is a perfect opportunity to use her home to attract love into her life.

Bedroom

“The space in which we live should be for the person we are becoming now,

not for the person we were in the past.”

- Marie Kondo

Here are 11 things you need to change in your bedroom to attract love.

  1. First things first, you need to start by decluttering your bedroom. That means nightstands, closets and dresser drawers. Boom, I said it. You are intentionally creating space for a new partner in your life so make sure that there is extra space in the closet, that you leave some empty hangers and space on the floor for another persons shoes.

  2. Okay, I know you love your family, so do I but displaying photos of your mom and children in the bedroom is a big no-no. You want to focus on your partner when you’re in your bedroom and there’s nothing sexy about your mom in your bedroom with you.

  3. Place objects in pairs. When you’re decorating your bedroom, make sure you display items in pairs: a pair of candles, a pair of lamps, a vase with 2 flowers … you get the picture.

  4. Make sure your wall art has a romantic theme. You know, like a couple sitting on the beach staring off into the sunset. You definitely don’t want to hang a piece of art depicting an old woman knitting in a rocking chair in a dark room with a cat next her if you are trying to attract love into your life.

  5. Your bed placement. Okay, this is a big one. Place your bed so that there’s equal space on either side. This gives both partners equal room to enjoy the relationship. You never want to place your bed in a corner it can make your partner feel trapped.

  6. You need to have a nightstand on either side of the bed. It’s your declaration that you are ready for a partner to occupy the space next to you on the bed.

  7. Okay, I know you don’t sleep with stuffed animals anymore BUT if you do, it’s time to break up with them. Why? Because they send the message that you have no space in the bed for anyone else.

  8. Brace yourself for this one! You really should remove work and electronics from your bedroom. Your bedroom is a sanctuary and should be reserved for two things only: rest and romance. You know, brown chicken – brown cow.

  9. If you have recently ended a relationship, replace the mattress if you can. I know, I know they’re uber expensive so if you can’t, at least invest in a new set of sheets and bedding if you can swing it.

  10. Get the ex-lover out of your bedroom…for good. No photos, no old sweaters and no gifts. You heard me, cut all ties. Your welcome.

  11. Add some touches of red to bedroom. There are soooo many shades of red, I know that you can find one that you like. It will activate the Fire Element and ignite your love life. I always suggest a little red jewelry tray on your nightstand.
