ONE ROOM CHALLENGE - WEEK 4

Week 4, we made it to the halfway point and after so much planning, procurement and receiving product, I'm so excited to finally see the some of the pretty things coming to fruition!

THE CLOSET MAKEOVER

Can we just start with "The Little 1950's Closet That Could"??? I am OVER the moon about this closet transformation (see BEFORE photo below). "Before", it was dark, dreary and way too overfilled! We were definitely long overdue for an edit and declutter session! Getting dressed wasn't even close to a joyful experience. It was like, get it, get what you need and get out then thanking ALL the Gods that a stack of jeans didn't fall on your head!

CLOSET - BEFORE MAKEOVER

Initially, I wasn't going to address the closet but emptying the entire contents of your bedroom is honestly a pretty painful experience. It really throws you off of your game so I decided that I was going to tackle every single little thing that bugged me about my bedroom.

WHAT I DID

In case you haven't noticed, I have a colorful wardrobe! I painted the closet walls the paint color KM5582 Whitest White in Semi Gloss by Kelly-Moore Paints. I absolutely love it!

MAKE A STATEMENT WITH THE FIFTH WALL

On the ceiling, I decided to use the same Milton & King Fantails wallpaper from the feature wall add it to the ceiling et voila, it totally elevated the space! This is a great strategy when you're working in small spaces, use your vertical real estate and it really makes you space feel bigger!

Fair warning though....you may get resistance from your wallpaper installer like I did but stay the course! I kept the original light ceiling fixture and then added a vintage inspired crystal shade that I already owned. It's a vibe!

WE'RE MAKING PROGRESS

We also installed the Milton & King Fantails wallpaper on the feature wall and painted all of the bedroom walls KM4912 Thistle Gray by Kelly-Moore Paints in a low sheen. We also addressed the fifth wall in the bedroom and painted it KM5582 Chicha Morada by Kelly-Moore Paints in a flat sheen but you're going to have to wait to see those in a couple of weeks when we reveal the space!

A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT

A special shout out goes to my husband, who has been working 11 hour days, 6 days a week and still finds time to support me with this project. Thank you, Honey!

WHAT'S NEXT YOU ASK?

- I should be getting the wallpaper for my bathroom from Spoonflower this week so hopefully I can schedule my installer this week or next.

- My Electrician will be installing my new ceiling fan, super excited about that because it's warming up here in San Diego.

- I will be repainting my existing vintage dresser and adding the new acrylic drawer pulls and knobs.

- We need to move back into our closet! Our clothes are on a clothing rack in the living room!

- I'm having my curtain panels, Euro Shams and Shower Curtain made.

So many things in the works! We'll see you on Week 5!
